The Beech Group is wholly owned and run by Stephen Beech, a Manchester born and bred property pioneer and green technology ambassador. With his student lettings business, Beech Properties, he’s been a successful property developer and landlord since 2001. In 2013, he turned his attention to Manchester city centre, acquiring derelict buildings and renovating them into low carbon, high design apartments. His aim is to bring unloved historic buildings back to useful purpose and provide affordable high standard apartments to new graduates and young professionals. Stephen is the driving force behind the Beech Group of companies. Throughout his life, he has tirelessly worked and achieved his goals, winning awards such as Shell’s LiveWire Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award from the age of 21. He has more recently won the prestigious Local Business Accelerator Award.
Director of Finance
David manages relationships with the Beech Group’s funders. He has over 25 years’ experience in commercial banking, with RBS as Director of Corporate Banking. His business and leadership experience make him a stand-out figure in the financial services market and a valuable asset to the Group.
Head of Investment
Oliver is responsible for Beech Holdings’ investment products. His role is to generate, manage and retain investments. He has extensive experience in Finance, and was initially FCA regulated and an investment and mortgage adviser, arranging large loans for HNW UK and commercial finance for individuals and companies.
Howard holds extensive experience in property, which has been a passion of his for a long time. Born and bred in Manchester, he has superior knowledge of the city and is always the first person to find out about the latest property trends. Having mastered the art of building solid business relationships around the world, Howard is always the first to know about some of the biggest deals in the industry.
Andrew Cordwell BEng (Hons) is the CEO of Beech Design & Build, having overall responsibility for our portfolio of projects. An engineer by trade, he has over 20 years’ experience in engineering, project management and building services management. Andrew brings to the company a wealth of experience in managing commercial, retail and industrial building projects.

Paul Davidson BSc (Hons), MRICS heads the design and projects teams. Paul has 30 years’ experience in the property consultancy industry with 14 years experience in design services across various sectors. He has a wealth of professional qualifications, including being a chartered building surveyor and a member of the association of project supervisors.
Joanne Beech, Stephen’s sister, joined the company in 2008 following a 10 year career as Global Communications Manager for consumer goods giant Unilever. Joanne heads the organisational, corporate communications and administrative divisions of the business, ensuring we communicate effectively and meet our core organisational objectives.
Development Associate Director
As Development Associate Director, Hollie is responsible for putting development management procedures in place in order to ensure that all projects are progressing as efficiently and effectively as possible. Recognised for her diligence and attention to detail, Hollie holds a wealth of industry experience and expertise and brings great value to the business.
James Roxborough joined the company after working in luxury property development in London, developing grade II listed buildings into high specification flats and town houses in Islington, Bayswater and Kensington. James now mainly oversees acquisition, planning, design and construction of all our city centre developments.
Associate Director: Lettings and Property Management
Jonathan joined the Beech team in 2007 and has progressed from Lettings Negotiator to Lettings Associate Director. He is responsible for driving the lettings division, growing business and ensuring property management operations are efficient. He provides leadership, direction and inspiration to the team.
Human Resources Manager
Val has 25+ years’ experience as a HR generalist, having long term tenures in corporate companies including own label manufacture, public transport, and conveyor belting. She holds a formal safety qualification so is equally at home with our office and construction teams. A part of Val’s brief is to support Beech’s vision to not only employ, but to develop and continuously improve our highly trained, qualified and multi-skilled workforce.
Head of Communications
Originally from France, Elise has a degree in Journalism. She is passionate about communications as a whole. Curious by nature, she is always looking for new trends and techniques to ensure we deliver key messages to our audience in an efficient and timely manner. Her role being diverse on a daily basis, Elise would describe herself as somebody who can adapt quickly and think on her feet, in order to provide solutions to any challenges which may arise.
Head of IT
Jozef is responsible for overseeing the IT strategy for Beech Holdings, having supported the business externally since 2005. After graduating with a master’s degree in IT & Engineering in 2003, he moved to the UK to pursue his career and progressed to become UK IT Manager for a global corporation. From setting up Stephen Beech’s first office to managing the IT team, Jozef has consistently proven his loyalty and expertise.
Tamlyn qualified as a building engineer over 20 years ago and then obtained an MBA. He has over 19 years’ experience in regulated advisory and management positions both in the UK and offshore in Guernsey. He is a consultant specialising in the marketing of our investment products to professional investors, wealth managers, family offices and financial institutions.
